Advocate for the rights of children in informal settlements to have access to education, safe spaces, and opportunities for talent development
Advocacy for Child Rights & Education
At Billian Music Family, we believe that every child—regardless of where they are born—deserves the right to education, safety, and the freedom to dream. Yet, children in informal settlements like Mathare often face systemic barriers that limit their potential. Through our Advocacy for Child Rights & Education, we stand as their voice, championing justice, equality, and opportunity.
Our advocacy efforts focus on:
- Defending the right to quality education, pushing for inclusive systems where every child can learn, grow, and succeed without discrimination.
- Campaigning for safe environments, free from violence, exploitation, and neglect—where children can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
- Raising awareness about the daily struggles faced by children in informal settlements, from poverty and food insecurity to lack of basic resources.
- Collaborating with policymakers, educators, and community leaders to influence positive policy changes and programs that prioritize children's well-being.
- Empowering children and youth to speak for themselves, equipping them with the confidence and leadership skills to advocate for their rights and future.
Through advocacy, we are not just changing narratives—we are helping shape a society where every child is valued, protected, and given the chance to reach their full potential.
